We are trying to decide if we should continue on xanga or go to blogspot. I've had a hard time with putting pictures on both. Hopefully we can figure it out soon. Sorry we haven't kept it up to date.
Life is going really well. The kids are enjoying the few days we've had of warm weather. Today being one of them. They are ready for summer. A break from school and warmer weather. We've had quite a bit of cold days with snow or rain.
Jordin has spent a lot of time with friends this year, due to lack of snowboarding. The first day he went out he was grinding and broke his wrist. Basically he was out for the rest of the season. Needless to say he still went out a couple of times. We couldn't lock him in forever. Fortunately we haven't had anymore breaks for the rest of the season. He received his Eagle last summer and is now helping with the Wolf scouts. He has managed to keep himself busy. It weird to think that he'll be getting his permit this summer and may help us drive to town. WOW.. that was just a crazy thought.. I can't believe he getting that old. I remember when I turned 15. Who would have thought that my boyfriend at fifteen ended up being my husband. Oh wow... I can't go that far in thought with Jordin. He's still my baby.
Mikayla has changed cheer teams so it wasn't as demanding this year. She also joined competitive dance. She has done very well and has thoroughly enjoyed it. She picked up dance right away and fell in love with it. I guess third time's a charm as they say. Mikayla is in 6th grade and is in middle school. It's so weird. She's in to make-up, music, texting, and well she is doing very well in school even though she is busy. It's fun to see her blossom into a young preteen. She is growing up so fast. She is now in young womens and is loving it. It's amazing to see these young kids turn into young men and women. I'm grateful for the youth program to help keep the growing strong and help them learn about the gospel and gain a personal testimony. It has been a joy to watch Jordin and Mikayla grow with the gospel as a foundation.
Damon has done wrestling and soccer this year. He enjoyed wrestling and has begun soccer. Well, he's also enjoying school and loves his time with his friends. He seems full of energy and is enjoying this year at school. The last couple of years he hasn't been thrilled about going. So it's nice to know he's having a good year. He has a new friend name Fox and has loved spending time with him at school. He is now in scouts and can't wait to join my group with the bears. Only one more week. He has been so fun. He does his school work really well and works hard.
Kiarra has been going to preschool and has learned her alphabet in sign language. It's amazing how quickly they learn with signing. She continues to learn more everyday. We love how she writes her name as IkIk, instead of Kiki. It's hilarious but she insist that when she spells it, it says Kiarra. We just laugh. She has also started dance this year and seem to love the costume more than dancing.
Now that I have read what I have written about my kids... I think wow I make them sound perfect. No worries.. we all know that we have our moments. It just moments like these that remind us to appreciate them when they come.
As for Mike he continues to work for Icon. Luckily with the economy he can still keep his job. We know it has affected many. So we know that we have been blessed for him to have his job. He has had some of his overtime taken, however it's been nice for the family to have him home more. We love having dad around!!!
As for me.. well life has been interesting. I finished MA school in August and immediately taken the job where my internship was. I enjoyed what I was doing, however I needed to go back to school and the schedule for school and work wouldn't work out as well. So I decided to quit my job and go to school and perhaps find something closer and less hours. Fortunately it has worked out in my favor. I decided to apply at the school district and work as a Life Skills Aid. The district hires LPN's to work with special needs children so I wanted to try this route and see if I would like it. Well, I fell in love with it so much that I decided to continue in school to become a special education teacher. All the classes I have already taken will count towards my Special Ed. Major. Nothing left out. I was so thrilled. Plus my MA experience will be a benefit as well.
I cannot express enough how much I love my job and working with the kids. They are such a joy. I look forward to the time I'm with them and yet glad to have time with my family. I have really enjoyed my life these past few weeks as an Aid. I'm hoping to keep it in the fall, however with budget cuts I may not be able to. I'm just grateful for the experience I've had. Well I'm sorry that this was so long. Unfortunately we didn't get our Christmas letter done so thought spring would be better so you would all have time to sit and read.
We hope life is treating you all well and that you have a wonderful summer. Perhaps we will get to see you this summer. I'm looking forward to summer weekends at Bear Lake and being with our family again. Man... I love the summer. Don't we all. Love to you. Krista... wish I could be there to greet Brynlee a hello when she comes also to my brother Skip and Jen.. we know that little Hailey will be coming soon too. Good luck and give her loves as well. Know that our thoughts and prayer are with you and that we wish you well. We love you all. Kai, Nea, Aila, Austin, Brody, Jackson, Brynlee, Chewy, Toby, Hailey, and Brandon and Megan... hello to you and we miss you guys. We love you and hope to see you sometime this year if not this summer. Love you all Mike, Tonee, Jordin, Mikayla, Damon, and Kiki.

Summer 08, So Far...
It has been a long time and Tonee used to always do this so this is my first time to make an entry but I am going to try and add a few key highlight of the summer so far and maybe I can start to get caught up again. So here we go:
Our new house is coming along, this is after we just laid grass down while the kids where all in Oregon working at the fireworks stand. We wanted to surprise them by getting the yard done.

In the spring time Jordin's soccer team went undefeated. I help coach and it was one of those dream season that you dont get very often. We had all great kids on the team, everybody played well together and we won the championship!

Damon played soccer this spring too. His games were all in the fields that Jordi made as his Eagle project and they are at the school right next to our house. Sure made it easy to get him to his games!

Damon got baptised in the beginning of May.

Here is a family picture after the baptism:

After the firework stand in Oregon, everybody there had to pack up quickly and take the long drive to Utah to get here in time for Jordi's Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, July 6th. Here he is receiving his Eagle Award.

Then the next week we had a Widmer reunion at Bear Lake and rented a cabin that could sleep more than 30 people. It made it a lot of fun to all stay together. Here is a picture of the cabin we stayed at:

then we held the main reunion on Saturday at the Hirschi Hideout.

All in all it has been a great summer so far, just going by to fast. I know this is a QUICK update but I will try and do more soon with a little more detail. I just wanted to get an update out and see how this looks as it is my first entry. We love you all and have really enjoyed seeing so much family and friends already this summer.
